UN envoy calls for investigation into electoral violence in Ghana

The United Nations, on Monday called on the Ghanaian authorities to investigate incidents of electoral violence in the December 7 polls. The UN also called on the government to hold the perpetrators accountable in line with Ghana’s commitment to guaranteeing the respect of human rights and the rule of law. Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, and the Head of the UN Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS, made the call in Accra. He said regrettably, the post voting period had been marked by isolated incidents of violence which had led to the loss of lives. The Leadership of the New Patriotic Party in the Essikado-Ketan constituency have dared the National Democratic Congress to seek redress on any suspicion in the law Court concerning the just ended parliamentary elections in the Constituency. Be vigilant when shopping for Christmas – FDA

Mr Sebastian Mawuli Hotor, the Upper East Regional Director of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has called on members of the public to look out for expiry dates of products as they shop for Christmas.      “Usually when it gets to the end of the year and Christmas, those whose products are nearing expiration, reduce their prices and sell. More Voltarians endorse NPP’s policies
