The CAF Champions league game between Ghana’s Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou at the Accra Sports Stadium has been called off.
Reports indicates that the game was called off due to multiple covid-19 positive tests in the camp of Nouadhibou.
The game was originally scheduled for 3:00 pm Ghana time but was delayed for more than an hour after a number of the guest team players tested positive for the pandemic.
A standoff between the CAF officials and officials of FC Nouadhibou after their refusal to isolate the affected players forced the referees on the day to call the game off.
Kotoko held the Mauritaninas to a 1-1 draw game in the first leg and were looking to book their place in the next stage of the competition after a win today.
Both clubs will wait for the next line of action from CAF.
