Serve hearing notice on lawyer of alleged J B Danquah’s killers- Court

An Accra High Court has ordered that a hearing notice be served personally on the lawyer of the alleged killers of J B Danquah Adu (member of parliament) so he could appear in court. The Court tasked the Court’s Registrar to ensure that there was proof of service before the next court sitting. The Court presided over by Mrs. Justice Lydia Marfo further ordered the prosecution to file their disclosures and serve same on accused lawyer. The order of the Court came after the trial judge indicated that she noticed that there was no proof service on counsel and the Registrar of the Court had not complied with the order of the court by issuing a hearing notice on defence counsel. Trial of alleged kidnappers of two Canadians begins

An Accra High Court has commenced the trial of four persons who allegedly kidnapped two Canadians in Kumasi, with the state calling its first prosecution witness. The accused persons; Sampson Aghalor, aka Romeo, a 27 year old Computer Engineer, Elvis Ojiyorwe, a 27 year old businessman, Jeff Omarsar a 28 year old Tiler  and all Nigerians, and Yusif Yakubu a resident of Kumasi. They have been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit crime to wit kidnapping and two counts of kidnapping. Accused have denied the charges. Church clerk granted bail for stealing

Gregory Osei Donkor, a 30-year-old clerk of the Pentecost District at Assin Fosu in the Central Region, has appeared before a Circuit Court in Cape Coast for allegedly forging documents and stealing GHC107,746.92 belonging to the Church. He pleaded not guilty to the charges of possessing forged documents and stealing and the Court, presided over by Mrs Dorinda Smith Arthur, admitted him to bail in the sum of GH¢54,000 with two sureties to be justified. One of the sureties should have a landed property worth GHc60,000 while the other a government worker earning at least GHc2,500. His next appearance is on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Sissala West District gets fire station

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has commissioned a fire station for the Sissala West District in the Upper West Region as part of efforts to curb bushfires and fire related disasters in the area. Also, 73 fire volunteers, comprising 71 males and two females, drawn from communities in the District, were trained to help augment the efforts of the fire officers to augment service delivery. Five arrested in connection with murder of Mfantseman MP Ekow Quansah Hayford

Five persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman , Ekow Quansah Hayford. This was revealed by the Ghana Police Service on their social media handle. According to the police, the suspects are being taken through lawful Police procedures. The MP, Ekow Quansah Hayford, was killed by unknown gunmen at Abeadzi Duadzi in Mankesim in the Central Region on his return from a campaign tour at around 11:00 pm .
