21-Year-Old Carer Blessing Olusegun Mysteriously Found Dead On UK Beach

A carer from Elthan, South East London, was mysteriously found dead after taking a walk on a beach in Bexhill-on-Sea. 21-year-old Blessing Ayomide Adetutu Olusegun was a business and finance student and had been on a week-long placement in the seaside town as a live-in carer for dementia sufferers. She had talked with close family and her partner at 1am on September 18, asking them to stay on the line as she walked towards the seafront and last sent a message to a family friend at 1.25am. The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday said the next NDC government will streamline the fishing sector to benefit fishermen and other stakeholders in the industry. Addressing fishermen at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East constituency on the first day of his five-day tour of the Central Region, Mr Mahama observed that fishing inputs, including the distribution of fishing nets and premix fuel, have been hijacked by supporters of the ruling party following the government’s politicisation of the sector. LAGOS (Reuters) - Kidnappings rose by 40% in the Gulf of Guinea in the first nine months of this year, and the region off West Africa’s coast now accounts for 95% of global maritime kidnappings, the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) said on Wednesday. Eighty seafarers were taken in the Gulf of Guinea, a 2.3 million sq km (888,000 sq m) area bordering more than a dozen countries, sharply up from the same period in 2019, and the pirates are attacking further out to sea than before, the IMB said. Pirates armed with guns and knives attack everything from oil platforms to fishing vessels and refrigerated cargo ships. Islamist terrorists attacked Nambo and Pangane, two villages in the Mucojo administrative post, in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado, between Friday and Monday, reports Wednesday's issue of the independent newssheet "Carta de Mocambique". The raiders murdered ten people, three in Nambo and seven in Pangane. Two Mozambican soldiers were among the dead in Pangane. The terrorists also kidnapped 60 people in Pangane and two in Nambo. Ghanaian officials handed roles in upcoming WAFU U-20 qualifying tournament

Four Ghanaian Football Officials have been handed assignments in next month’s WAFU ‘B’ Under-20 Qualifying tournament. The 2020 WAFU ‘B’ U-20 Qualifying tournament will be staged between November 14-29, 2020 in Togo. GFA Deputy General Secretary Alex Asante has been handed the role of a General Coordinator at the tournament. Former GFA Technical Director Francis Oti Akenteng will also join the Technical Study Group. Two Match Officials, Charles Benle Bulu (Referee) and Tijani Mohammed (Assistant Referee) are also set to officiate at the tournament. They will however undergo Cooper Tests and courses on November 10 & 13. A virtual draw for the WAFU U20 which was earlier scheduled for October 17 -31, will be held on October 20 in Abidjan.

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured that public sector workers that Government will resolve the issue of ‘Past Credit’ for public sector workers who retire from January 2020.
