Sixty traders arrested for defying border closure directive

Personnel at Aflao Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) have arrested a total of 60 traders for attempting to use unlawful exiting through unapproved routes into Togo. The Kumasi, Takoradi, Okaishie, Kantamanto and Makola-based traders were on two separate occasions intercepted, while trying to cross into the neighbouring Togo to buy goods for their businesses. Kwahu- Nkwatia community to get a modern hospital project

Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, the Deputy Minister of Health and Chiefs and People of Kwahu Nkwatia have cut the sod for the construction of a modern 40- bed capacity hospital project to provide quality health care delivery to the community and its environs. The project, funded by the Government of Ghana has been awarded to Vamed Constructions Limited and would be completed in two and a half years. Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews, Flagbearer of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has expressed his readiness to prioritise the construction of a bridge over River Oti if voted into power in the December polls. Alleged Kidnappers abandon victim over gender preference

Some unidentified men who allegedly kidnapped a teenager, on Friday, in Ho later abandoned him when an unidentified voice told the perpetrators that they rather needed a girl. The victim, (name withheld), narrated to the GNA from his hospital bed that some unidentified kidnappers took him hostage outside their gated house around Area 52, when he stepped out to find a place urinate. He said he remembered a hand blindfolding him, and later on, a voice saying a female was preferred over a male, while he had been kept in a sack with hands and face tied with ropes, in an unknown environment.
