Vice President begins two-day visit to Western Region

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Wednesday began a two-day working visit to the Western Region where he will commission some projects and cut the sod for the construction of roads in some districts. The visit would also enable him to address durbars and pay courtesy calls on traditional authorities in the respective districts. The Vice President would start the tour at Atobiase in the Wassa-East District, inspect road works at Half-Assini, address a durbar at Sameyi and later inspect the construction of a polyclinic at Elubo. German Government presents vehicles to Ghana Immigration Service

The German Government has presented vehicles made up of six pick-ups and a mini bus to the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) to boost its operations against migrant crimes. Mr Kwame Aauah Takyi, the Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI), said he was confident the vehicles would boost the morale of the officers to respond swiftly to emergency calls by the operational teams should there be any attack. Nurse in Germany given life sentence for lethal insulin injections

A German court on Tuesday handed a life sentence to a 38-year-old former nurse for the murder of three of his patients by injecting an insulin overdose. The nurse, who often worked in households caring for elderly patients, had access to insulin as he is a diabetic.
