Kremlin says Navalny charges against Putin ‘unacceptable’

The Kremlin on Thursday accused opposition leader Alexei Navalny of working with the CIA and making "groundless and unacceptable statements" after he claimed President Vladimir Putin had orchestrated his poisoning with Novichok. "I assert that Putin is behind this act, I don't see any other explanation," the anti-corruption campaigner told Der Spiegel in his first published interview since being discharged from a German hospital. But Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov countered: "We believe that such charges against the Russian president are absolutely groundless and unacceptable." Mahama begins Ahafo Regional tour

The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama, has begun a tour of the Ahafo Region, after wrapping up a four-day tour of the Bono Region. Mr Mahama will spend two days touring all constituencies. He will meet and interact with chiefs, farmers, artisans, market women, okada riders and commercial drivers, among others. He will highlight the people’s manifesto, the NDC’s manifesto for the December 7 elections, during his meetings and speak to specific policy interventions planned for the Ahafo Region and its local economy. Mr Mahama’s tour of the Ahafo Region will end on Saturday following which he will embark on a tour of the Western North Region.

US President Donald Trump has said he and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus and are now in quarantine. Mr Trump, aged 74 and therefore in a high-risk group, wrote on Twitter: "We will get through this together."It comes after Hope Hicks, one of his closest aides, tested positive.
