Highlight your manifesto plans for small-scale enterprises, ASSI tells NPP, NDC

The Association of Small-Scale Industries (ASSI)has, challenged Ghana’s two major political parties to outline their Election 2020 manifesto plans towards boosting Medium and Small Scale Enterprises in the country. According to the Association, electoral manifestoes played a crucial role in visions of multi-party democracy, and they were unhappy Election 2020 manifestoes of both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were silent on plans to enhance the industry. Russian journalist sets herself on fire after police search property

A Russian journalist has died after setting herself on fire in front of the local branch of the interior ministry in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, a day after her apartment was searched by police. Prior to her self-immolation, Irina Slavina wrote on her Facebook page: “I ask you to blame the Russian Federation for my death.” Slavina worked as editor-in-chief at Koza Press, a small local news outlet that advertised itself as having “no censorship, no orders ‘from above’”. 2020/2021 cocoa season opens on Friday

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has announced that the purchase of the 2020/2021 main crop season will commence on Friday, October 2, 2020. The producer price to be paid at all buying centres is GHC 316.80 per load of 30 kilogramme of Grade I and II cocoa beans naked ex-scale or GHC 660.00 per bag of 64kilogrammes gross. A statement issued in Accra by Mr Joseph Boahen Aidoo, the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD said a tonne of 16 bags was GHC10,560.00.

Leicester City have signed defender Wesley Fofana from Saint-Etienne on a five-year-contract. The 19-year-old joins the Foxes for an undisclosed fee.
