Give NPP first MP in Daffiama-Bussie-Issa constituency-Bawumia pleads

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has pleaded with the Chiefs and people of the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa constituency to give the New Patriotic Party (NPP) its first Member of Parliament (MP) in the upcoming December 7,elections. According to him, the development the NPP government brought to the Constituency in four years far outweighed that of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in eight years and therefore deserved to be given its first MP for the constituency. The Ghana Football Association (GFA), is delighted to announce that beneficiaries of the Youth in Sports Programme under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) have received their first monthly stipend. The GFA in July, 2020, reached a consensus to enroll five-hundred players in the Women’s Premier League on the Youth in Elite Sports Programme under the Sports module initiative. Scores of people have expressed mixed reactions about the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) promise to extend maternity leave from three to four months. Some people said the intervention would promote exclusive breastfeeding, but others called for further discussions.  The NDC at the launch of its 2020 manifesto dubbed “The People’s Manifesto” in Accra on Monday, said it would amend the law to provide four months maternity leave in addition to existing legal maternity provisions and grant seven days paternity leave to fathers when elected into power in the December general election. Flood destroys several hectares of farmlands in Bawku enclave

Several hectares of farms in the Bawku enclave, Upper East Region, have been completely destroyed with livestock carried away by flood as a result of a weeklong torrential rains. The situation, which affected all the six administrative districts in the area, Bawku Municipal, Bawku West, Binduri, Garu, Tempane and Pusiga Districts has been compounded by the spillage of the Bagre and Kompienga Dams in Burkina Faso. It caused the tributaries of the White Volta, which passes through the districts in the region to overflow their banks, submerging the Kobore Bridge in the Bawku West District and flooding all farms in the area.
