Oti Akenteng played a big role in Ghana Football – GFA President

President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku on Friday, August 21, 2020 lavished praise on Francis Oti Akenteng, former Technical Director of the federation. Mr. Oti Akenteng served the GFA in different capacities dating back to 2006 when he was first appointed by the Confederation of African Football as Head of the Technical unit of the GFA. He was later elevated to FIFA level in 2009 as GFA Technical Director and Head of the Technical Centre, Ghanaman Centre of Excellence, Prampram. Ainsley Maitland-Niles: Wolves and Newcastle target Arsenal defender

Wolves and Newcastle are both keen on Arsenal defender Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is set to leave the Gunners. The 22-year-old made 32 appearances for Arsenal last season and started the FA Cup final victory over Chelsea. However, the Gunners are committed to rebuilding under manager Mikel Arteta and have told Maitland-Niles they are willing to listen to offers for him. No bids have been made yet but it is understood a deal could be put together for an offer in the region of £20m. Wolves and Newcastle are both understood to be interested in the England Under-21 international, while Everton are also thought to be considering whether to make a move. Maitland-Niles has been with the Gunners since he was six and has a contract that runs to 2023.

Don’t refill defective gas cylinders-EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has directed Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Pump Attendants not to refill customers defective Gas Cylinders as it has contributed to incidence of domestic gas fires. “Pump Attendants must counsel customers who presents defective cylinders for refilling, to understand the dangers associated with using substandard gas cylinders,” Mr John Alexis Pwamang, the EPA Acting Executive Director stated during training of LPG Pump Attendants in Accra. School reopening committee to submit report on Sep 21

The School Reopening Committee established to deliberate on modalities for the reopening of schools is expected to present a recommendation to the government on September 21, Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, the Director-General, Ghana Education Service (GES) announced. Assin South leads teenage pregnancies in Central Region

The Assin South District recorded the highest number of adolescent pregnancies in the first quarter of 2020 in the Central Region. Out of a total of 1,352 pregnancies recorded in the district for the first half, 250 were adolescent girls between the age bracket of 10-19 years representing 18.5 percent. The district had in the last three years recorded a total of 757 adolescent pregnancies being 258, 249, and 250 in 2018, 2019 and 2020 respectively.
