Black Starlets, Black Satellites granted permission to resume camping

President of the Republic of Ghana. H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has granted approval for the Black Starlets and the Black Satellites to resume camping following an appeal by the leadership of the Ghana Football Association through the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The approval was captured in a letter communicated to the GFA, dated August 11, 2020 and signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to the President. "Approval has been granted for the teams for the U-17 Tournament and U-20 Tournament to resume camping to enable the team prepare for their respective competitions. Thirty Black maidens players to begin camping today

Black Maidens Head Coach Baba Nuhu has called up Thirty players to begin camping ahead of their 2020 FIFA U-17 World Cup final round qualifier against Nigeria. The team will converge at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday, August 14, 2020 to begin preparations for the game. Ghana will take on Nigeria in October/November in search of a ticket to represent Africa at the World showpiece slated for India in 2021. The Black Maidens started the qualifying campaign in March with a 10-0 aggregate triumph over Liberia in a home and away fixture before taking a break due to the Corona Virus pandemic. GFA to support grassroot football with 6,00 balls via fifa forward 1.0

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has approved an amount of $100,000 to purchase six thousand (6,000) footballs for grassroot football development via the FIFA Forward 1.0 programme. This was announced by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku on Thursday, August 13, 2020 when he met Executives of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association during a working visit at the Accra Sports Stadium. These footballs will be distributed to the 10 Regional Football Associations for use at Juvenile League game centers, Women’s Division One Clubs, Second and Third Division Clubs and the Juvenile U-17 inter club champions league.
