The Nkawkaw Sports Stadium in the Eastern Region of Ghana is set to go under renovation to an international standard.
The National Sports Authority and the Youth and Sports Ministry have begun steps to renovate the stadium which has been abandoned for a long time.
The Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi held a crunch meeting with the management of the Middle Belt Development Authority in Kumasi on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 for the renovation works to begin as soon as possible.
The meeting was to finalize arrangements between the Sports Authority and the Youth and Sports Ministry as well as the Middle Belt Development Authority for the renovation works to begin soon.
The Nkawkaw Sports Stadium serves as home venue for most football clubs in the area including former Ghana Premier league side Okwahu United.
