CAS postpones verdict on Osei Palmer v GFA case

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have postponed their much-anticipated verdict on the case between Wilfred Osei ‘Palmer’ and Ghana Football Association (GFA). CAS had announced Friday, 17 July 2020 to communicate their verdict, however, they have postponed it to August 4, 2020. CAS said the extension is pursuant to Article R59 of the Code of Sports-related Arbitration. Palmer dragged GFA to CAS following his ‘unfair’ disqualification from contesting the 2019 GFA Presidential elections. The Tema Youth owner was disqualified by the now-defunct Normalisation Committee / Elections Committee from contesting the elections. Marcus Rashford will follow legendary Manchester United figures such as Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton, who have previously received the award - the highest honour the university can offer. "When you look at the great names that have been awarded this doctorate in the past, it's humbling," said Rashford. "We still have a long way to go in th...

Partey’s uncertain future Speculation surrounding the future of Ghanaian international Partey has been rampant of late. Amid another superb campaign to date, during which the 27-year-old has again proven himself to be one of the finest midfielders in La Liga, Partey has inevitably been linked with a move away from the Wanda Metropolitano. The likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona and, most persistently, Arsenal have been named as potential landing spots for the African. What makes Partey’s situation such an intriguing one for interested clubs, though, is the pres...
