Government fulfills promise of funding postgraduate medical training

Government, through the Scholarship Secretariat, has released an amount of GHC 6.85 million to pay the tuition fees of 918 resident doctors, dentists and other medical specialists undergoing training at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS). The amount constitute more than half of the GHC11 million required by the College towards funding its activities for the 2019/2020 Academic Year. Penticost University, All Nations University now autonomous universities

Pentecost University College in Accra and the All Nations University College in the Eastern Region have transitioned into autonomous universities with the capacity to award their own degrees and diplomas.  President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at a ceremony at the Jubilee House on Thursday, granted the two institutions a Presidential Charter to enable them operate as fully-fledged universities. This means they will no longer be known as University Colleges. Government to construct new SHS across the country-Prez Akufo-Addo

Following the successful roll-out of the Free Senior High School (SHS) educational policy three years ago, the government has announced plans to expand the number of Senior High Schools across the country. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who announced Thursday when a delegation from the Kologo Traditional Area in the Upper East Region called on him at the Jubilee House in Accra, said the move forms part of government’s efforts to improve access to SHS education in the country.
