The two COVID19 patients were taken to the hospital and admitted for other conditions.

However, upon suspicion, their samples were taken for COVID19 testing after they had been in the facility for almost a week.

Their tests came out to be positive. One of the two cases was in a private ward while the other was in a general ward with patients being treated for other sicknesses.

According to our sources, the wards have been closed down. Workers who came into contact with the COVID19 patients have been quarantined.

Management of the hospital has planned to shut down the facility tomorrow for fumigation.

The SSNIT hospital is making efforts to relocate their patients to other health facilities but is facing difficulties in that exercise.

The source said hospitals like Korle Bu and Ridge Hospital say their wards are full and, therefore, cannot admit patients from Trust Hospital.

Health workers who have been asked to self quarantine have been complaining that for over 72 hours since their samples were taken for testing, their results are not yet back.

They are angry with their employers for not making arrangements to quarantine them and rather asking them to self quarantine.
