A two-year-old boy trapped in a fire outbreak near a fuel station this afternoon at Apremdo in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis in the Western Region has been burnt to death.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, according to reports, the fire occured at a time two diesel tankers were waiting to discharge diesel at a fuel station in the area.
The fire burnt the fuel tankers and spread to nearby shops where the young boy was.
Officers from the Ghana National Fire Service have managed to bring the situation under control but struggled in the beginning because their tenders run out of water.
They had to wait for a while before a backup tanker arrived to help douse the flames.27
