BNI investigate military officers for demonstrating at President’s residence at Nima

Information gathered by the Ghana News Express indicate that the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) is holding some military officers who were part of demonstrators at the Nima residence of President Akufo-Addo in Accra.

According to our sources, the demonstrators were allegedly protesting against the UNIPASS deal, and had planned to present a petition to the government.

The source said the police arrested the demonstrators and, upon further investigations, established that that some of the protestors are serving military officers.

Their motive for joining the protest is currently being investigated by the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI).

Some reporters who were covering the protest were also arrested by the police. They were held for several hours before they were released.
