Four male Burkina Faso nationals have been nabbed by the Immigration officials at the Babile inland check point for attempting to enter into the country illegally.
Government has closed the country’s borders have been closed as part of measures to contain the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic.
So far, a number of persons have been arrested by immigration officials for attempting to enter into the country, despite the closure.
The four Burkinabe Nationals, aged between 22 and 29, were captured at 6:15 this morning, a statement from the Immigration Service said.
“They were ceased onboard a Hyundai Grace H300 mini bus with registration number AS 3289-11 en route Wa and to Kumasi” the statement said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that their migration was for economic purposes, it added.
“It was also revealed that they entered Ghana through an unapproved route within the Hamile Sector Command”.
“They were taking through initial health screening at the check point and were carried to Hamile Immigration Control for repatriation to their home country, Burkina Faso”.
