Government has distanced itself from President Akufo-Addo’s ‘Wear Your Mask’ campaign billboard springing up in some parts of Accra.
The billboard comes with a picture of the President (without face mask) urging people to wear face masks.
People have raised concerns over the ad, wondering why the President is campaigning for public patronage of face masks when he, himself, is not wearing one in the campaign picture.
However, the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said the government is not behind the campaign ad.
“We appreciate all who seek to help government communicate at this time. But please, do well to engage with government on imaging and messaging”
“This billboard of the President without a mask not from government. Note that at his last public appearance, the President wore his mask” Mr Oppong Nkrumah said.21
