14 people arrested for performing puberty rites in Somanya.

Police in Somanya have arrested fourteen persons for performing puberty rites (Dipo) in Sawer, a Suburb of Somanya in the Eastern Region. Their arrest was in contravention of the President’s imposition of restrictions on social gathering in the wake of COVID 19. A statement signed by DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, PRO of the Eastern Regional Police Command stated that “the suspects failed to comply with imposed restriction: Cont. to Para 1 (1) of F. Man wins $1 million lottery with same numbers in one day

A Colorado man won two $1 million lottery prizes with the same numbers in one day. Identified by the Colorado Lottery as Joe B., the Pueblo resident bought a few tickets in the morning on March 25, and a few more at night, the agency said in a press release. Two of his plays, with numbers Joe B. often uses, ended up winners, and he claimed his two Powerball jackpot prizes on Friday. Ghana Medical Association demands arrest of persons involved in the installation of new Okuapemhene

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA)  is demanding the arrest and prosecution of all persons involved in the installation of a new chief at Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern Region.  The installation took place despite the ban on social gathering on Friday. Gov’t to introduce new measures to enforce ban on social gathering

Government will, in the coming days, announce new guidelines to strictly enforce the ban on social gathering, as health authorities condemn the blatant disregard for protocols on social gathering in parts of the country. Tema Police arrest seven over missing robbery money

The Tema Regional Police CID on Friday arrested 19 residents of Tema Community One site one out of which seven have been charged with stealing monies belonging to a robbery victim. After providing heaving security for the installation of a new Okuapemhene at Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern Region yesterday, the Police has turned around to arrest four sub-chiefs who led the installation process for flouting social distancing protocols.
